The mission of RVMS is to provide an evangelical, Bible-based education that equips students to grow spiritually and academically for effective service to God, the church, and society as portrayed by the Anabaptist/Mennonite tradition.
Thy word a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

The home is the basic institution designed by God to train children. The Christian school is an extension of the Christian home where young people are trained and educated in a Christ centered environment.
The pivotal passage of Scripture on child training was given to Moses in Deuteronomy 6:5-7a "Love the Lord thy God with all thy soul and with all thy might. And these commands which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart; and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children..." This is also endorsed by Jesus in Matthew 22:37 "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thine might. And these words which I commanded you shall be in your heart; and thou shalt teach them diligently to thy children."
Our school motto is found in Proverbs 1:7, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge."
Education is training and preparing eternal beings for time and eternity; for time, that they may discover God's purpose for them in this life, and for eternity, that they may "enjoy God forever." Each individual is unique and that God has a purpose and plan for him that needs to be discovered and developed according to God's wisdom and foreknowledge. "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You. When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there was none of them." Psalm 139: 13-16 (NKJV)
The basic goal of Christian education is to know Christ Himself and to see him in all learning. Colossians 2:2 states it well, "That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and 'attaining' to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (NKJV)
The inquiry quest and discovery of a child must be guarded by Biblical principles to attain a Christ centered education and world view; to this responsibility River Valley Mennonite School is sincerely dedicated.
Objectives.
1. To lead all students to the saving knowledge and lordship of Jesus Christ,
2. To provide a thorough academic education with high scholastic standards, integrated with an evangelical Christian view of God and the world.
3. To promote Bible-based absolutes. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me." These are the absolutes that we and our children need to stand on for eternal life.
4. To provide a Christian atmosphere for meeting the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social needs of the students.
5. To develop strong intellectual leadership for the home, church, and nation.
